What you’ll need to succeed
We’re looking for the best. Our mission and our vision for what we want the business to stand for, means that really want to speak to you if you are either already at the top of your game or want to get there.
In this respect, we’d love you to have a degree or similar in a hydrology, physical geography or a flood risk related discipline but its not essential as long as you have the industry experience. In fact, we’ll even provide all the support you’ll need to gain a formal qualification if you don’t already have one.
You should be experienced in supporting a wider team in assessing all sources of flooding, thriving on embracing complex and sometimes intimidating problems. Ideally, this will include understanding of hydrology estimation (e.g., FEH) and experience in using modelling packages such as Flood Modeller, TuFLOW, Microdrainage or similar. You will have proven experience in producing Flood Risk Assessments and surface water drainage strategies through a mix of technical expertise and collaboration with colleagues, project teams and authorities. This includes having excellent analytical and report writing skills so you can evidence your assessments clearly and succinctly. You will be able to use and manipulate software such as GIS, AutoCAD or Site3D to assist you. You should have sound understanding and interpretation of flood risk policy and legislation.
Above all else, personality is king in our business. We want you to be a confident and self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
